RESEARCH QUESTION
How can an individual be in charge of their own inner world and daily rituals,
and to what extent is it controlled by the urban and social constructions of the place they inhabit?
PROJECT TEXT
Through researching my home town and the nordic life style, I have noticed how interlinked the two are.
My observations about the systematic culture of Finland, reflects its city design. The hyper controlled
society of the nordic norm can be seen in the strict city design and layout of societies. I want to challenge the current
norm, and question one’s view of the world. I compare the construction of the outer world, on your inner world and
want to challenge one’s view of the world. The game I designed to portray this organised society within our cities
and I want the game to challenge and to explore possibilities beyond peoples immediate reality. As well as, restore a sense of control
in their everyday life. In our current world individuals are pushed towards a certain narrative, through the game
I want to emphasise the possibilities around oneself. Life is not just a game you have to follow, but can also play.
