BUILD YOUR DREAM CITY

BUILD YOUR OWN CITY

You are told to not stand out, to not to disturb the peace and to live in the real world.

The game questions the path that one is on. Inspired by ground hog day and the trumanshow,
the suburban life is designed for flawless day to day life, in a protected environment. The game
questions the intentions of the player and if they realise that they are part of the cycle. I want the game to highlight the importance
of self reflection and looking inward when assessing their living environment. At the end of the day
how you feel about your city is completely dictated by your inner world. The game illustrates how your inner world is
built up through out your life and something that keeps growing.

The pieces demonstarte how a city and a living environemnt can be built back up through the exploration of ones own
inner world. How an individual sees the world is reflected to how they navigate their inner wolrd. The game demonstartes how
walking in your living environment can spark new imagination of your living space.

Being connected to the world is very close to the anchoring experience of existing, which is a vital topic for architect and theorist Juhani Pallasmaa. The experience of existing, according to Pallasmaa, is profoundly concrete, not conceptualized or intellectualized. It is an existential experience always related to the “unconscious image of perceiving self.”

”The sense of self,” he writes, “allows us to engage fully in the mental dimensions of a dream, imagination and desire.”
